Increase your odds of successful printing.

The picture shows a large, heavy Brother laser printer. Whether you print a little or a lot, this is what will provide reliable printing. 

Ink printers are smaller and cheaper up front, but they aren't designed to work well or for very long. To make printing more 'appliance-like,' consider these steps:

Step One (the most important step): Purchase the correct type and brand of printer. Type: Laser. Brand: Anything but HP. Black and white laser printer $250, color $375. Everything from HP other than their printers (computers, monitors, keyboards) are fine. HP printers are not fine; a $140 Canon ink  printer is likely to be a better investment than a $400 HP laser printer.

Step Two: Learn the art of printing. Know for instance that printing from a browser can be  challenging & that deleting and re-adding a printer solves 30% of problems.
